About Us

The Alpine-Adriatic Danube Power Exchange (ADEX) is the first regional power exchange for Central and South-Eastern Europe. On December 23, 2022, the ADEX Group was established in Ljubljana by founding members ELES, EMS, and EPEX SPOT. Following the merger of BSP and SEEPEX, the group had its headquarters in Ljubljana, with additional offices in Belgrade.

In November 2024, ADEX Group successfully merged with the Hungarian Power Exchange (HUPX), establishing itself as the leading power trading hub in Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe. This merger significantly enhanced market liquidity while promoting efficiency and price transparency.

Headquartered in Budapest, ADEX Group is now the sole shareholder of BSP, HUPX, and SEEPEX. This structure aims to streamline trading and clearing services while improving customer experience as the integration process unfolds.

The collaboration of shareholders, including ELES, EPEX SPOT, EMS, and MAVIR, plays a crucial role in this vision, with a shared commitment to advancing the pan-European Market Coupling, fostering energy transition, and uniting fragmented markets in the region.
