Electricity Market Integration Forum
European Parliament

ADEX Group, Europex, and EPP are jointly organizing the Electricity Market Integration Forum (EMIF), which will take place on May 20th at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The Forum will focus on the ongoing efforts and remaining challenges in fully integrating the Energy Community Contracting Parties into the EU Internal Electricity Market—a long-standing political priority. While notable progress has been made, it is becoming increasingly clear that the original timeline for integration will not be met.

A crucial next step is the adoption of the Market Coupling Operation (MCO) Integration Plan, which will pave the way for the technical implementation phase. Current projections anticipate the first go-live window for Energy Community Nominated Electricity Market Operators (NEMOs) in Q4 2026, provided that all preconditions are fulfilled.

Key questions to be addressed at the Forum include:

  • What are the remaining political hurdles to full integration?
  • What collective actions can accelerate the process?
  • How can further integration enhance Europe’s competitiveness?
  • What will be the impact of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) on electricity imports and exports between the EU and Energy Community countries?

EMIF provides a unique platform to take a political perspective on regional electricity market integration and to advance dialogue among stakeholders and decision-makers.

Don’t miss out — register now and be part of the future of energy!
